Cinnamon from the bark of Cinnamomum species is one most important spices used worldwide in food and as a traditional medicine for centuries. It has substantial benefits human health including its protective role on cardiovascular diseases. This review provides an overview effects cinnamon major bioactive constituents. Reviewed literature showed sufficient evidence that can reduce risk diseases, cardiac ischemia, hypertrophy, myocardial infarction. Furthermore, exhibited beneficial cardiovascular-related comorbidities like diabetes, other metabolic disorders, antioxidant anti-inflammatory effects. contains several compounds such phenolics volatile compounds. Cinnamaldehyde cinnamic acid are among main with diseases through different molecular mechanisms. Although have been extensively reported, more preclinical clinical studies still required before use biopharmaceutical agent.
